Our base camp, Marabou
Landing is surrounded by well-populated, prime Moose habitat. Hunting is based from our base camp Marabou Landing, River Spike
camps, and Remote Spike camps. All these facilities are used during your Hunt to ensure the best opportunity to harvest your
trophy. We go where the animals are and that means all type camps are utilized if necessary to ensure the best opportunity
for success. River skiffs are used to access day hunting areas. River skiffs and our SuperCub
provide service to Remote spike camps. Our Moose hunting is World Class with Bulls to 70". Average Bull over
the last 5 years averages 60". We cater to all hunting methods with Archery Hunting being our speciality. Rifle, Crossbow,
or Muzzleloader all great ways to harvest the largest North American Trophy Moose. Hunting in Alaska is a great adventure.
There is a possibility all of our camp types will be used during your adventure from Base camp, to Spike camps on the River,
to very Remote Spike camps. Our Spike camps are outfitted with the finest in camping equipment, gear and tents. Hunting in
Alaska you must be physically and mentally prepared. Weather in Alaska during Moose season can range from 20 - 79 degrees
and Rain up to and exceeding 50% of the time. Alaska hunting means Big Weather, Big Country, and Big hunting with Big Animals.
We at NWA Outfitters do everything in our power to make you comfortable during your stay with very accomplished guides and
good food and service, it is up to you the Hunter to be prepared physically and mentally prepared to get the most out of your
hunting experience.
Our Base camp has
wood heated log cabins and Oil heated weather ports. Immenities in base camp are meals prepared by our on site cook, there
also is available hot showers and eskimo style wood fired Sauna. Satellite Internet service is also available for Emergency
contact.
Our River Spike camps are just that.
They typically have Cabelas Outfitter Extreme Tents, meals prepared by your guide, cots, and the finest camping equipment
on the market today. These tents are typically used to maximize hours in the field and put you in game rich areas miles
away from our base camp. These camps will add some adventure to your hunt and additionally maximize opportunity. These camps
are accessed by River Skiff and return trips to our base camp are done on a prescheduled basis during midday hours only.
Our Remote Spike camps are serviced by our supercub aircraft exclusively. These camps are
only accessible by air and can be up to as many as 40 miles from our base camp. These camps are very remote and are checked
on by our supercub, weather permitting every 2-3 days during your 11 day hunt. These camps typically have the same Cabelas
Extreme tents and your guide will be preparing all of the meals here as well. These camps are placed in Traditonal areas where
Bull Moose are known to be. Trips back to our base camp are very limited due to logistics. These caps will add much adventure
to you hunt yet are comfortable and you will be well taken care of by your professional guide in the field. These camps have
a very good success rate and are used frequently.
We take only 6 - 8 Moose Hunters per year to ensure the Highest quality hunting. Due to our limited openings we are
normally booked for this Hunting Adventure 2 to 3 years in advance. Please contact us for availability. Our Average
Bull is above 60" in Width with great Mass. These Hunts are 11 days in length. That is the entire length of our
short Moose season. This is Hunting, not Shooting. Your Moose hunt can be customized to all physical abilities. Please
let us know if a special issue needs to be addressed upon booking your hunt. Be in the best physical condition possible
but more importantly be mentally prepared to hunt in Alaska. This is Big Country, with the possibility of Big Weather, hunting
for the finest Game animal on the planet.
